Lorraine Ma
Yunnan and Southwest China Land Service Operations
Hi, I am Lorraine Ma, a Travel Consultant at MuslimTravelChina.
Lorraine Ma is responsible for coordinating our land services in Yunnan and other parts of Southwest China. She is a Muslim from Kunming and has lived and worked in the region for many years. Her background gives her a direct understanding of local Muslim communities, regional food traditions and the practical needs of Muslim travellers visiting China.
Lorraine has more than 17 years of experience in the tourism industry. She started her career as a tour guide many years ago, accompanying visitors and managing services throughout their journeys. Through years of working directly with travelers, she developed extensive knowledge of the destinations, transportation, hotels, restaurants, local customs and day-to-day tour arrangements across the region.
This experience in the field provided the foundation for her later work in land service operations. Having handled tours personally, Lorraine understands how an itinerary works in practice, how much time is needed between activities and what details should be checked before guests arrive. She is also familiar with the unexpected situations that may occur during a journey and the coordination required to address them.

Today, Lorraine oversees the preparation and operation of tours throughout Yunnan and Southwest China. Her responsibilities include reviewing itineraries, arranging local guides and vehicles, communicating with hotels and restaurants, checking each programme’s practical details and following up with local teams while guests are travelling.
Lorraine also assists with arrangements for Muslim travellers, including identifying suitable dining options, communicating dietary requirements to restaurants, considering prayer times and facilities, and explaining local conditions to overseas travel partners. She understands that facilities and food options can vary between destinations, particularly in remote or less frequently visited areas. Arrangements are therefore checked according to the actual itinerary and local availability.
Her long-term field experience and knowledge of Southwest China allow her to coordinate the different parts of each programme with local guides, drivers, hotels, restaurants and other service providers.
